Our Story

Our journey began three decades ago when Dr. June Keyte and her husband Christopher established the choir with a shared passion for music. The choir flourished, and at its peak, encompassed over one-hundred young voices.

June's lifelong dedication to music, notably as the founder of the Kingsmead Singers, saw her collaborate extensively with the BBC on groundbreaking music education programs, such as Singing Together' and 'Time and Tune'. Christopher, a distinguished baritone, performed on many international stages and was a stalwart member of the Royal Opera House chorus.

Their legacies are deeply woven into the fabric of our choir. Sadly, we lost June in 2020 and Christopher in 2024. Since then, we've embarked on a new chapter under Laurence Williams' leadership, rebuilding our choir post-pandemic and reaffirming our commitment to serving both children and audiences in Enfield.
